A melodic hard rock group who occasionally got carried away all the way to power metallic pounding. When Jimbo Hammer (Ironcross) joined the group they changed their name to Warhead.

Sweet and melodic hard rock from the Åland Islands. The band actually got their video played on
MTV but things never proceeded any further. Singer Tosse Jansson has also sung on
Lars-Eric Mattsson's records but these days you have to go see opera in Sweden in
order to see and hear him perform live.

On the compilation this foursome from Mäntyharju cover Michael Schenker Group's "Feels Like a Good Thing" with rather hilarious results. The 7" offers two own songs, crunchy and straigh forward old style hard rock but sadly the production isn't too great.

A solid feelgood heavy metal group from Viiala that hardly got any attention in their own time but have
become one of the most collected Finnish bands abroad. Drummer Mirka Rantanen is still around
playing in such bands as Warmen, Tunnelvision, Thunderstone and on the solo album of Timo Kotipelto of Stratovarius.

Loud Life
|
|
A hard rock band from Turku featuring a bass player who went on to become Marky the disco star. This vividly illustrates the difference between the
Finnish and Swedish music scenes: Martin Eriksson of Maninnya Blade
turned into E-Type selling humongously and the bass player of Loud Life turned into Marky selling, well, fuck all. Anyway, the Loud Life vocalist Eetu
Koch sang in Minx a little later.

Lyijykomppania

Heavy and disciplined - a good two words to describe this doomy trio that could
spring from nowhere else than Finland. The band consisted of Esa Moilanen (drums)
and Timo Rautiainen (vocals and guitar) plus a roundabout of bass players (e.g. Tapio Wilska
who later on has played in Wizzard and Furthest Shore, and Alaluusua who later on
has played in Trio Niskalaukaus).
In the late '90s Timo Rautiainen formed Trio Niskalaukaus
who play the same type of material with only a tad more groovy touch but with
a hell of a lot more sales and success.
