Six Hundred Threescore and Six

   Does Metal mean as much to you
      as it does to us?
   Does Metal mean as little to you
      as it does to them?
   In five, ten, fifteen years from now,
      will you look at Metal as a whore you
      fucked when you had nowhere else to go?

Don’t mistake settings for the truth, props for the play. Praise the lord and pass the ammo. Isten is a hard, throbbing satan. A juicy, dripping god. Fighting, in all manner of doomed ways, for Metal as it should be - dead heavy, bone hard, heartfelt and no-holds-barred.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose south of heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck out the eye that offends thee (1)

A time to laugh, and a time to weep;
A time to kill, and kill, and kill again.

A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to cast the first stone, and the second;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
And an eternity to listen to Heavy Metal.

          Mikko Mattila, Isten 2000.

(Old) News

Istennet is back online. After many moons the site is up and slightly revised. Big deal. Yeah, we have a domain as well. In case you haven't figured it out yet, www.isten.net is your direct access to the most audacious metal zine anywhere.

Love us or hate us, we'd like to read your (il)literate feedback on Isten, the new Istennet, or whatever is fucking you up at the moment. Visit Poison Pen for a quick fix.

Update:
June 10th, 2000

No news is good news.
Thank God the spam (e-mails asking for support, or whatever) ignited by the small bit of Isten in Terrorizer some six months ago has ended. Which is nice.
It's good to know we are so easily forgotten by the mob. We can concentrate on the good things in life. Like listening to music. Good music.
Have you missed us?

Whoa, we are pretty busy here... For the people still wondering if this is a webzine or regularly updated journal about the exciting life of undergound metal journalists and the shortcomings of life, get ready to be disappointed.

Exactly what the fuck is going on with isten.net? I check for updates almost every day, but am continually disappointed. Not wanting to come over all German or anything, but zis iss not gut enuff! I fucking need Isten, man. (name and address withheld)

Istennet updated? Can't be... Well, I could've spent this evening in the cinema, enjoying some European arty farty blue movie production, but opted out for metal duty.
If someone can spot the updates, please feel free to email me, as this looks pretty much the same as before.
